What is the Step Into HealthCare Programme?
The Step Into HealthCare Programme is a free employment programme for young people with care experience aged 16 to 30 in London. Our goal is to empower young people providing comprehensive one-on-one mentoring, access to digital skills training, and employability support to help them secure a meaningful career within the NHS and the broader digital workforce.
How is the Step Into HealthCare Programme Delivered?
The programme is delivered in a blended format, incorporating both online and in-person components. Young people can engage with the programme at their own pace. A dedicated career mentor will tailor the support and schedule around needs and circumstances.

A career mentor will be in touch to discuss the referral and answer any questions. We'll work together to understand your goals and objectives.

We will arrange a sign-up appointment to explain the programme in detail. This can be done over the phone, in person, or via a teams call.

Participants will be assigned a dedicated mentor who will create a personalised action plan. The mentor will provide guidance on skill-building, confidence-building, and industry insights. Participants gain access to our menu of opportunities, including digital skills training, e-learning, employability training, and a bursary to support their journey.
