Noora Hossain
Hi, I’m Noora - born and raised in London, with proud Bangladeshi roots. My career has been built in marketing and communications, where I’ve had the chance to work across the tech, banking, and creative industries. But beyond my professional life, I’m passionate about youth development and supporting young people to step into their full potential.
I’ve always believed that young people hold incredible power to shape the future, but too often their voices go unheard, their experiences overlooked. I’ve seen how life’s challenges can make people feel unseen, unheard, or even misunderstood - and I know from my own experiences just how transformative it can be to have someone who believes in you, listens to you, and creates a safe space for you to grow. That’s why I’m so passionate about youth development.
I joined The Switch Board as a Youth Ambassador because I care deeply about creating real change - not just through programmes and policies, but by making sure the experiences of young people are at the centre of the conversation. For too long, topics that affect young people, like mental health or financial struggles, have been swept under the rug or labelled “too uncomfortable.” I want to help shift that narrative. It’s time to normalise the hard conversations, challenge the stigma, to encourage honesty and openness, and to tackle these issues head-on - with young people leading the way.
I’m excited about the opportunity to grow in this role, both personally and professionally. I’m looking forward to taking on new challenges, sharing ideas, and building on my ability to connect with people and contribute to real change. What motivates me most is knowing that the work I do here will make a real difference in the community and help create lasting, positive change for young people.
My goal for the future is to make sure young people’s voices are not just heard but acted upon. I want to ensure that the decisions, policies, and programmes that are put in place are reflective of their realities. I want to help shift how young people see things, even in the smallest way, because sometimes a small change in perspective can make a big difference in their lives.
One of my favourite quotes:
"One spark of inspiration can change the way you see everything - sometimes, it only takes one person."
Sometimes, it only takes one person to completely change how you see the world. It could be a mentor, a friend, or even a stranger who says something that sticks with you - that spark of inspiration can shift everything. For young people especially, finding that connection can be life changing. Sometimes, a young person doesn’t need all the answers. What they really need is someone to believe in them, to open a door they didn’t know existed, or to say, “I see you. “And that moment of inspiration can carry you further than you ever thought possible!
